Although many modern Android-based smartphones boast of large screens, the user interface does not display more content. A developer at XDA-Developers has recently chanced upon a hidden scaling function Condensed Display, which allows the screen to accommodate a greater number of elements. Thanks to the Nova Launcher widget, they detected a hidden process named DisplayScalingActivity.
Activating the function Condensed Display takes several steps to be taken. They are:
– install and open Nova Launcher;
– open the settings menu and go to the Widgets tab;
– place the Activities widget on the home screen;
– open the settings tab and select the Condensed Display mode;
– restart the smartphone.
Noteworthy, after activating the Condensed Display mode, the user can still switch back to a different launcher.
